Globe Forum Tour has completed it's recent visit to 4 outstanding Swedish cities. Each city put forward it's worthy innovators, competing for a place in the Innovators Contest final, recently undertaken in Stockholm.
The competition was fierce but it was Karlstad's own Bokashi, represented by Jenny Harlén who won the audience and jury over in the final. Many congratulations to Bokashi, and to the city of Karlstad.
We are currently in negotiations with more top cities and regions to play a part in Globe Forum Tour in the near future.

Background
Globe Forum Tour is a local follow-up to the “City Challenge” project which was launched at the Eurocities meeting in Stockholm 2009 where the then Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, Maud Olofsson, in cooperation with GF announced a challenge posed to all cities in EU to become more sustainable.
Purpose
Globe Forum Tour has been developed with the intent to find local/regional innovators and to build a local ongoing process with the aim of promoting and developing a better platform for innovations linked to sustainable development. Another important factor is to create more business opportunities at the local level and uplift local innovations.
Globe Forum Tour will visit 6 cities in Sweden before summer 2011. At each Tour Stop we arrange a local “Innovators contest” where 8-10 selected innovators present their innovations during a 60 second pitch on stage. Two winners will be selected and they will directly qualify for the grand finale at Globe Forum World Conference in Stockholm 11-12 May 2011, where they compete in free participation in Globe Forum's Facilitator program, worth 100 000 SEK.
Innovators Contest:
Question: Why a 60 second elevators pitch?
Answer: When Frank Sinatra went into an elevator he met one of the most influential music producers in the industry and he knew that he only had that short moment to convince the producer that he was the right person and best singer in the world in order to get that ellusive million-dollar record deal, which he did.
We want to do the same thing with innovations! Sweden is one of the world’s leaders in inventing and realising sustainable innovations however some lack the ability to sell, take market share, orchestrate international marketing and showcase these vital creations on the world stage. This is why Globe Forum is arranging the Globe Forum Tour with the primary purpose of supporting innovative corporations and promoting a more active sales and marketing structure.
